Excursion / Transfer to Sounio - Temple of Poseidon

A trip to Sounion is always a good idea, a getaway to a nearby destination within Attica. Sounio is about 70 kilometers from the center of Athens and is known temple courts of Poseidon which is one of the most important sights and archaeological sites of Attica as well as the National Park that few know about.

The temple was built between 444 and 440 BC. On the ruins of an archaic temple, and was considered a sacred place, especially for sailors.

National Park
Sounio National Park was founded in 1971 and is the smallest park in Greece. It is a striking almost circular rock, 55 m deep and 120 m in diameter, probably formed by the collapse of the cave roof.
